With the Bears' 2023 season already being a wash, it might be the perfect time to do a 7-round 2024 Bears mock draft. With the Bears sitting at picks two and nine (via Carolina) they are in a great position to build around Justin Fields and a new coaching staff.
2. Marvin Harrison Jr. WR Ohio State

Harrison will be another one of Brian Hartline’s first-round wide receivers at Ohio State. Joining the likes of New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave, Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams, and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. In his first year as the Buckeye's true number-one target, he came down with 1,263 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns along with 77 receptions. Harrison is currently viewed as the second-best player in the 2024 class behind USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
9. Jer’Zhan Newton DT Illinois

Newton, a powerful defensive tackle, broke out last season and was among one of the best players on a strong Illini defense. In 2022, Newton finished the season with 59 tackles, 3 pass deflections, and 5.5 sacks. Newton has a strong base that allows him to stay solid and not get pushed around by opposing guards and tackles. Jer’Zhan will have to add to his limited pass rush arsenal in the NFL but that is the case with many defensive linemen and edge rushers.
33. Cooper Beebe IOL Kansas State

The 6’4” 322-pound mauler is going to be a high second-rounder in 2024. Beebe has the versatility to play anywhere on the offensive line, but will mostly be lined up at guard or center in the NFL due to his frame. Beebe has an insanely strong grip and is almost unmovable after making contact with a pass rusher. Beebe plays a nasty and physical style of football that fits in Ryan Poles’ model for the offensive line.
73. Andrew Mukuba S Clemson

Mukuba, who has been a main piece of a good Clemson secondary over the last few years, had 53 tackles with one interception in 2022. Currently slated as a second to third-rounder, Mukuba can jump the draft board and potentially be one of the first safeties off the board. In the NFL, Mukuba will either play nickel corner or lineup over the top as a safety.
103. Tyler Guyton OT Oklahoma

Guyton, a TCU transfer, would slide into Chicago as a swing tackle behind both LT Braxton Jones and RT Darnell Wright. The 6’6” 302-pound tackle is among one of many that can fly up the boards, maybe as high as the second round. Guyton excels at being light on his feet and agile but does struggle with pass protection.
118. Jalen McMillan WR Washington

Playing second fiddle to Rome Odunze in the Huskies’ offense hasn’t changed much for his production as he had over 1000 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2022. McMillan is one of the better vertical threats in this draft class and would be a great pairing with DJ Moore and Harrison if you don’t re-sign Darnell Mooney or Chase Claypool. McMillan struggles to make cuts and crisp short and medium routes compared to others in this class.
134. Jaheen Davis EDGE Wake Forest

Davis is a speedy pass rusher who has a great frame. In 2022, Davis ended with 33 tackles and 7 sacks and already has 4.5 sacks in 2023 through the first few weeks. Jasheen has a high motor and can beat tackles quickly while closing in on opposing quarterbacks. While Davis does need to work on changing up his pass-rush moves so they work better at the next level.
