The Chicago Bears have made out like bandits through days one and two of the 2025 NFL Draft. So far, the Bears have drafted Michigan tight end Colston Loveland, Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III, Boston College offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo, and Texas A&M defensive tackle Shemar Turner.
With the third and final day of the draft coming up, the Bears hold three selections (109, 148, and 233), allowing them to add to their already explosive offense with a running back and shore up their young secondary with a safety.
For my final mock draft of the cycle, I will cap off what has been an exciting draft for the Chicago Bears with my day three predictions.
Bear Down.
109th Overall: Cam Skattebo, RB, Arizona State
Skattebo became a hot name towards the end of the 2024 season, especially in the Peach Bowl against Texas, where he rushed for 143 yards and had 99 receiving yards. If that isn’t crazy enough, Skattebo also had a 42-yard passing touchdown.
Skattebo doesn’t have the straight-line speed that some of the top running backs have, but he makes up for it with his ability to break tackles and turn runs that you expected to go for negative yardage into long rushes. In 2024, Skattebo was second in all of the FBS in broken tackles with 50, only behind now-Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty, who had an astonishing 106.
As I stated in my previous article, the Bears need running back help after a lackluster season from D’Andre Swift.
NFL Comparison: Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery
148th Overall: Jaylen Reed, S, Penn State
Penn State has already seen one of their safeties come off the board, and they could see another come in the top half of day three. Jaylen Reed saw 2025 as his most productive season, with three interceptions and 98 total tackles. Reed has shown linear development through his four seasons with the Nittany Lions.
One of the pluses in Reed’s game is his tackling ability. While Reed finds himself playing best in zone coverage and playing in the box, he seems to make more mental mistakes while playing in man coverage.
With no safeties under contract beyond 2025, the Bears find themselves in a position to add one in the draft.
NFL Comparison: Indianapolis Colts S Nick Cross
233rd Overall: Jared Ivey, EDGE, Ole Miss
Jared Ivey fits the mold for Bears’ defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. In five seasons, Ivey totaled 17.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and 165 total tackles. Ivey is only 23 and has a ton of room to grow before reaching his ceiling physically.
Ivey isn’t the most athletic edge rusher available, but he more than makes up for it in the power department. Ivey has the versatility to play as far inside as a 4i in certain fronts.
The Bears gave Dayo Odeyingbo a 3-year, $48m contract this offseason, but they still have room to add a rotational pass rusher with a core that includes Montez Sweat, Austin Booker, and Daniel Hardy.
NFL Comparison: Los Angeles Chargers EDGE Tuli Tuipulotu
