Bears Agree to Terms With D'Andre Swift

The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms on a 3-year, $24 million deal with former Philadelphia Eagles running back D’Andre Swift. Chicago kicked off a pivotal free agency period by signing the former Eagles and Lions running back to be their starter in 2024.

Swift’s deal includes $15.3 million in guarantees and a cap hit of $5.83 million in the first year.

Swift will return to the NFC North after being traded by the Detroit Lions to the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2023 NFL Draft. Swift was the Lions second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Georgia

In 2023, Swift had his best year as a pro, where he amassed 1,049 yards and five touchdowns from 229 rushing attempts.

D’Andre Swift will enter an already solid running back room that includes Khalil Herbert and second-year tailback Roschon Johnson. Despite it being solid, Chicago Bears General Manager Ryan Poles knew it still needed one more piece and he went out and got it.

Swift will be a fantastic addition as a receiving threat for Caleb Williams in 2024, assuming Chicago takes the USC quarterback with the first selection.

The Bears were finalists for Saquon Barkley before he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
