Will Campbell Scouting Report

Will Campbell comes into the 2025 NFL Draft as the (almost) consensus number-one offensive lineman in the class. His blend of power and agility makes him a coveted piece among NFL teams before April’s draft.

Player Profile: Will Campbell | OT | LSU

Height: 6’6”

Weight: 320

40-Yard Dash: 5.20u

Style: Power/Agility

Class: Junior

Awards:

2022 Second-Team All-SEC

2023 First-Team All-SEC

2024 First-Team All-SEC

2024 Consensus All-American

2024 Jacobs Blocking Trophy

Strengths:

  • High football IQ; picks up stunts and blitzes at an extremely high level, compared to other tackles at the collegiate level.

  • Understands physics and how to use leverage.

  • Takes edge rushers where they want to go; washes them out.

  • Campbell had a lot of tests at LSU after going against a plethora of NFL-level pass rushers.

  • Finishes through contact in run blocking.

  • Anchor isn’t a concern with Campbell.

  • Not forced off balance easily.

  • Keeps feet moving.

  • Campbell’s technique is refined and nearly ready for NFL action.

  • Day-one NFL starter.

Weaknesses:

  • Oversets on occasion and allows edge rushers to beat him on the inside; overcompensates for the speed rushers.

  • Short arm-length might cause concerns on his ability to play tackle at the next level.

  • Inconsistent pad-level.

  • Footwork can be suspect at times.

  • Lateral quickness isn’t as good as you would want.

Summary:

Despite having concerns with his arm length, Campbell has the skill-set to play outside at left tackle or kick inside to left guard. The blend of power and agility is shown against various edge rushers like Nic Scourton and Dylan Stewart. I expect Campbell to be an impact starter at either LT or LG come week one.
